About CARSS Transportation
HISTORY OF CARSS
CARSS is a City of Sausalito Age Friendly Program managed by Sausalito Village (SausalitoVillage.org). CARSS was created in 2015 by the Age Friendly Sausalito Task Force as part of the AFS Community Plan to address the need for public transportation in the hills and around town.
OUR MISSION
CARSS is dedicated to providing free transportation for Sausalito and Floating Homes residents aged 60 and older, helping reduce isolation and loneliness while keeping our older adults connected to the community—even when they no longer drive.
WHEN AND WHERE
Rides are available most weekdays between 10am and 2pm to destinations throughout Sausalito, the Floating Homes, and the Gateway Shopping Center. All drivers are vetted, insured, and use their own vehicles. Rides can be scheduled up to one week in advance, or same day when available.
