The Sausalito Lions Club heated up the BBQ in appreciation of the CARSS and Sausalito Village Volunteers and  CARSS Riders.  Volunteer Appreciation events are integral to the success of CARSS - Sausages, corn on the cob, salad, dessert, drinks galore and Raffle Prizes all added to the fun!

HOW do I become a CARSS Volunteer Driver?

​The first step to becoming a CARSS Volunteer Driver is to let us know you are interested!  We will talk with you over the phone or by email and ask you to complete a simple application.  Other requirements to becoming a Volunteer Driver include:


  • CARSS will pay for a criminal and DMV background check
  • Your auto must be in good working condition
  • Your auto insurance must meet the CARSS minimum requirement of $100k/$300k/$50k
  • You must have a valid U.S. drivers license
  • ​We ask that you come to quarterly events and trainings


What will my commitment be?

  • You will be asked to volunteer for a minimum of ONE 4-hour shift per month (although we would love to have you more!)
  • You will be sent a Google Calendar two weeks before the first of the month and asked to provide the Coordinator the date(s) you are available to drive
  • You will receive a list of reserved rides the morning of your day on duty
  • You will be driving your own car, so please make sure it is in good running condition and free of debris 
  • Same Day calls that come in between the hours of 10am-1:45pm will be forwarded  to your cell phone for you to return when it is safe to do so
  • ​You will receive a thorough training and the Project Coordinator is available to answer any additional questions!
